"Ma'am, you handed me 4 too many tickets." She was saying to me as I gazed sadly over at the bay.

"I know…" That was my simple reply as I refused to take 4 of the silly yellow tickets back. "It's for my friend… I want to make sure the seat next to me is empty while I ride… for her." I added, not looking at the attendant. The heartbreak hit all over again and it's all I can do not to start to tear up.

"You can just pick a lesser ridden car you know, strangers usually don't sit by you… and why isn't your friend with you? We can't save the seat or anything." The girl continues, her loud gum chomping jaw making me fee

Long story about this! Firstly there's a wedding at my house tomorrow. It's gunna be tiny and private and nice... all that fun stuff. They asked me to do all the wedding day shots... like 4 days ago. :*panic* And then I guess they were talking about a cake and my 13 year old sister goes "Oh I'll make a cake!" not realizing she had a party the same day. So she baked the cake this morning, added a crumb coat and left the task to me for today. The last time I made a cake was like... February...

Bottom coat: 1 hour of fighting with it to make it perfectly smooth and then giving up.

Swirls: 2 hours off an on taking breaks because the stupid frosting refused to defy gravity for me and it kept falling down and blobbing when I tried to do the sides.

Roses: 4 hours of me probably making 50+ today and continuing to scrap them, coming back after freezing the frosting to make it stiffer, giving up and re-freezing the frosting and then finally getting a few I was happy with... and then re-dong them all. :faint:

Overall there's like 8-9 hours into this cake counting frosting mixing time, cleaning etc. I'm not 100% happy with it but I feel it's the best I could do after being so rusty and all.
